Poverty doesn't have to be permanent. The Salvation Army helps those in need to overcome poverty through a variety of programs.

Pathway of Hope Program

Pathway of Hope provides individualized services to families who find themselves in cycles of poverty, including unemployment, unstable housing, lack of education, and more. If your family is in this cycle – and you want to make a change – The Salvation Army Northwest is here for you.

Pathway of Hope can move a family from crisis to stability by pairing them with a case manager who will connect the family to the services they need. These services include: referrals to homeless shelters, access to food banks in your area, help obtaining affordable housing, job-training, and more. If you are interested in this program please reach out to Ashlyn Sambo: ashlyn.sambo@usw.salvationarmy.org or 206-783-1225 ext: 328.

Meal Assistance - Greenwood Food Bank

The Greenwood Food Bank is a client-choice food bank at the Seattle Temple Corps. Clients can go shop in the food bank and find nutrisious food to feed their families. Click here to go to the food bank webpage to see hours of operation.

Financial Assistance

At The Seattle Temple Corps, there are financial services to help families avoid falling into the cycle of crisis by supplementing their income with utility and rental payments. This assistance often becomes the difference between shelter and eviction, between maintaining honest work and selling drugs or services for money, and between keeping kids in one place and moving them out of their homes and onto the streets. For information about assistance programs in your area, call Anna Palmer at (206) 783-1225 ext: 331 at anna.palmer@usw.salvationarmy.org.
